Originally
from Edinburgh, John Duncan moved to the Huntly Area over 27 years ago
back to his 'family roots' to coin a phrase. With a sound background in
Sales & Marketing and the IT industry 'Huntly Computer Services' (HCS)
was opened for business in June 1996 and was one of the first in rural
North Aberdeenshire. Operating from what was almost a bothy just outside
Huntly, it wasn't too long until we decided to move operations to a
warmer less damp environment and in 1997 we moved to Aberchirder.
However, with the business once again expanding as well as the family
and with an ever-growing customer base, larger workshop facilities and
more office space were required to accommodate the growth of HCS and our
added Web Based Services.
Some thought was given to opening shop premises, but to keep prices,
charges and overheads to a minimum and to make us more competitive, it
was decided once again to operate from a home base and we moved to
Sketraw of Muiryhill in July 2002.
Consideration at this time was also given to changing the name of the
business but after much deliberation it was decided to keep our
well-established name of Huntly Computer Services, as the largest
proportion of our customers were from the Huntly, Turriff, Banff and
Macduff areas.
Although once again we have moved premises, we hope this will further
increase our level of service, advice and support to our customers
throughout Aberdeenshire and Moray. We would like to take this
opportunity to thank all our customers for their continued loyalty to
HCS over the past years. |
